Where Are They Now?
“We thank the Lord with all the heart that we have precious light to present before the people, and we rejoice that we have a message for this time which is present truth. The tidings that Christ is our righteousness has brought relief to many, many souls, and God says to His people, “Go forward.” [Exodus 14:15.] … Hunt up the backsliders, those who once knew what religion was, and give them the message of mercy. The story of Christ’s love will touch a chord in their hearts. Christ draws human beings to himself with the chord which God has let down from heaven to save the race. The love of Christ can be measured only when this cord is measured.”

This article is to encourage you not to ever give up praying for loved ones who may have strayed away. God will bring the wanderers back again. There is something wonderful about that seed of truth that has been planted in someone’s heart. It may remain dormant, or it may seem to be buried by the cares of this world, but it is there.
One of those was a former M.I.C.E. student, Jorge. What I remember about Jorge from school days was that he was a jolly, happy boy, always very polite and easy going. Jorge received all the medical missionary training, and I remember Joe saying that Jorge had the gift of compassion for people.
He always enjoyed reaching out to people and looked forward to going out canvassing with the whole wheat bread and other healthy items. After graduation, Jorge wanted to spend time with his absentee father, but that did not work out, and I believe it was a source of discouragement for him, and he started straying away.
But those things he had learned with M.M.M. and the true education he had received kept him from going totally out in the world. He got a job, but of course it required him to work on the Sabbath, so there went church attendance.
Jorge dated a young lady in the village, but he marked a difference when he maintained himself in a society where men just take the girls and start living with them. He wanted to do things right. He waited for two years, built a home (which he built himself) and wanted to officially marry her. And that’s what he did! And he is faithfully serving in God’s vineyard. He’s one of M.M.M.’s sons.
