True Education
Our schools are the Lord’s special instrumentality to fit the children and youth for missionary work…Practical domestic training should keep pace with their education in missionary lines. In childhood and youth, practical and literary training should be combined. We are thankful to God that we can do that type of work with the children, and they love it. They all want to learn so they can become vegan chefs 🙂
“True education does not ignore the value of scientific knowledge of literary acquirements; but above information it values power; above power, goodness, above intellectual acquirements, character. The world does not so much need men of great intellect as of noble character. It needs men in whom ability is controlled by steadfast principle. How many can truthfully answer this question. What is the essential education for this time? Education means more than many suppose. True education embraces physical, mental and moral training, in order that all the powers shall be fitted for the best development, to do service for God, and to work for the uplifting of humanity.” CSA 65
This is the burden of our education with these children. This year hasn’t been easy, but it has been rewarding to have the opportunity to educate these children. We finished our school year here in Honduras, and I wish you all could have been here for the closing program. The children did so well, sharing some of the things they learned and singing to honor and glorify God. I am sending you lots of pictures so you can see how precious they are. Please keep praying for them.
